IgA 144 Super Food Panel

$441.68 AUD

Dealing with ongoing digestive symptoms and wondering whether specific foods are triggering gut-level immune responses?

Measures IgA antibody responses to 144 foods from a finger-prick blood spot. IgA is produced at mucosal surfaces like the gut lining, so elevated levels to specific foods may be relevant when investigating digestive symptoms and intestinal inflammation. Results are best interpreted with a healthcare provider.

Overview

The IgA 144 Super Food Panel measures IgA antibody responses to 144 foods. IgA antibodies are produced at mucosal surfaces, particularly the gut lining, so elevated levels to specific foods may be relevant when investigating digestive symptoms or intestinal inflammation.

This differs from IgG food testing, which reflects systemic immune exposure, and from IgE testing, which identifies immediate allergies. Elevated IgA to certain foods does not automatically mean those foods are causing symptoms. Results are a starting point for guided elimination trials with your healthcare provider, not a standalone diagnosis.

The panel suits people with digestive symptoms that may relate to food triggers, those with inflammatory bowel conditions, and anyone wanting a broad assessment of gut-level immune responses to foods.

Symptoms

Suited for people with digestive symptoms that may relate to food triggers, those with inflammatory bowel conditions, or anyone wanting IgA-based food sensitivity assessment to discuss with their healthcare provider.

Questions

  • IgA antibodies are produced at mucosal surfaces. Elevated IgA to specific foods suggests your gut's immune system has responded to those foods, but it does not confirm they are causing symptoms.
  • IgA reflects gut-level mucosal immune responses. IgG reflects systemic immune exposure. Different clinical contexts may warrant different testing approaches.
  • In many cases, yes. Addressing underlying gut inflammation, temporarily removing trigger foods, and supporting intestinal health may reduce IgA reactivity over time.
  • Broader panels identify reactions to less common foods that smaller panels may miss. Some sensitivities involve foods you would not suspect.
  • Not without guidance. Work with a practitioner to prioritise elimination based on reactivity level and your specific symptoms. Removing too many foods at once can create nutritional gaps.
  • Multiple reactions often point to underlying gut dysfunction rather than true sensitivity to every flagged food. Addressing gut health may reduce overall reactivity.

How to prepare

No fasting required. Continue eating your normal diet so the test reflects your current food exposures. Avoid antihistamines for 48 hours before collection, as they may affect results. Collect the blood spot sample using the provided allergy card and post it back promptly following the kit instructions.

After the test

Discuss your results with a healthcare provider who can help prioritise which foods to trial removing and for how long. A supervised elimination period of 4 to 6 weeks followed by systematic reintroduction is a common approach to identifying true triggers. If many foods show elevated IgA, your provider may also investigate underlying gut health as a contributing factor.

Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.

Understanding results

Results show IgA antibody levels for each of the 144 foods tested, categorised as normal, borderline, or elevated. Elevated IgA to specific foods suggests your gut's immune system has responded to those foods, but this does not confirm they are causing your symptoms. Multiple elevated results may reflect underlying gut dysfunction rather than true sensitivity to every flagged food. Discuss your results with a healthcare provider experienced in food sensitivity assessment.

Simple health checks in my control

I didn't know that private blood tests were an option. Tried this platform as the packages suited what I wanted for a good price. Easy to follow instructions, and super quick results. Platform provides more information than my gp's ever have on the tests and what the results meant. Would like more clinics to be able to test at (specifically Capital Pathology) but there is a decent network. Will continue to use.
