Measures C-reactive protein (CRP), a protein released by the liver in response to inflammation. Levels rise with infection, autoimmune flares, injury and tissue damage. A broad inflammatory marker used across a wide range of clinical investigations.

Fourth-generation blood test screening for HIV-1/2 antibodies and p24 antigen simultaneously. Can identify HIV from around 2 to 4 weeks after exposure, earlier than older antibody-only tests. Reactive results require confirmatory testing.

Measures IgA, the antibody protecting mucosal surfaces in the gut and respiratory tract. Used to screen for IgA deficiency and validate coeliac antibody testing, as low IgA can cause false-negative coeliac results.

Measures IgD, the rarest major antibody class. Primarily ordered to investigate hyper-IgD syndrome (HIDS/mevalonate kinase deficiency) in the context of recurrent periodic fevers. Rarely used outside specialist settings.

Measures total IgE, the antibody involved in allergic reactions. Elevated levels are associated with asthma, eczema, allergic rhinitis, and parasitic infection. Does not identify specific allergens.

Measures total IgG, the most abundant antibody in the blood and the main mediator of long-term immune memory. Low levels suggest immune deficiency; elevated levels are seen in chronic infection, autoimmune disease or paraprotein conditions.

Measures IgM, the immune system's first-response antibody. Used to assess acute immune function, investigate immunodeficiency, and screen for Waldenstrom's macroglobulinaemia. Typically ordered alongside IgG and IgA as a full immunoglobulin panel.

At-home deep nasal swab screening for MARCoNS (antibiotic-resistant coagulase negative Staphylococci). Used in mould illness and CIRS investigations where nasal colonisation may perpetuate inflammatory symptoms. Includes sensitivity profiling if organisms are detected.

The Ross River Virus Serology Blood Test checks for IgM and IgG antibodies against Ross River Virus, a mosquito-borne infection common across Australia. IgM antibodies suggest recent infection while IgG indicates past exposure, and results are used alongside symptoms and travel history to assess whether RRV may be the cause of joint pain, fatigue, or rash.

A urine MCS test examines a urine sample for signs of infection through three stages: microscopy (checks for inflammation markers), culture (identifies any bacteria present), and sensitivity testing (determines which antibiotics will be effective).

At-home PCR swab test analysing vaginal bacteria (including Lactobacillus), yeast species, common STI pathogens and vaginal pH. Provides a detailed picture of the vaginal microbiome to help investigate symptoms like unusual discharge, odour or recurrent infections.
