How to prepare
Collect a spot (random) urine sample using the provided kit. Follow the enclosed instructions for proper technique. Avoid starting new antibiotics before collection if possible (check with your healthcare provider). Return the sample promptly using the prepaid postage.
If you have a fever, back or flank pain, vomiting, or feel seriously unwell, seek urgent medical care rather than waiting for your results.
After the test
Share results with your doctor or urologist. They can use the organism identification to guide targeted antibiotic selection rather than broad-spectrum treatment. If STI pathogens are found, your doctor will advise on appropriate follow-up.
Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.
Understanding results
Results list organisms identified by PCR along with their relative quantities. Your healthcare provider will interpret which organisms are clinically significant and whether they may be contributing to your symptoms. Not all organisms found require treatment.
