How to prepare
No fasting required. Continue eating your normal vegetarian or vegan diet so the test reflects current food exposures. Avoid antihistamines for 48 hours before collection. Collect the blood spot sample using the provided allergy card and post it back promptly.
After the test
Discuss your results with a healthcare provider or plant-based nutrition specialist. A supervised elimination of high-reactive foods for 4 to 6 weeks, followed by systematic reintroduction, can help identify true triggers. Your provider can ensure you maintain adequate protein and nutrient intake from alternative plant sources during the elimination period. Keep in mind that using antibody results to guide food elimination is a contested approach rather than settled practice, so make any dietary changes with your provider rather than on your own.
Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.
Understanding results
Results show IgA antibody levels for each of the 96 vegetarian foods tested, categorised as normal, borderline, or elevated. Elevated IgA suggests your gut's immune system has responded to those foods, but does not confirm they are causing symptoms. Discuss your results with a healthcare provider who can guide dietary modifications while maintaining adequate nutrition on a plant-based diet.
