Want to assess your antioxidant protection by measuring your α-tocopherol levels so you can better support immune health, skin integrity, and cellular defence?
Evaluate your antioxidant protection with the Vitamin E Test. By measuring α-tocopherol, the most active form of vitamin E, this test helps you understand your body’s capacity to defend against oxidative stress.

Simple health checks in my control
I didn't know that private blood tests were an option. Tried this platform as the packages suited what I wanted for a good price. Easy to follow instructions, and super quick results. Platform provides more information than my gp's ever have on the tests and what the results meant. Would like more clinics to be able to test at (specifically Capital Pathology) but there is a decent network. Will continue to use.

Calcium Blood Test
"I'm a little biased as I work here! However, I love that The Bloody Good Test tracks my health over time. After turning 40, I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to drop dead from something basic I should have known about earlier. Measuring all my core biomarkers each year gives me peace of mind my health is on the right track"

Overview
This test measures alpha-tocopherol, the most biologically active and beneficial form of vitamin E. Vitamin E plays a crucial role in protecting cells from oxidative damage, supporting immune health, enhancing skin function, and reducing inflammation. By evaluating your vitamin E status, this test provides insight into your body’s antioxidant capacity and ability to manage oxidative stress.
Low vitamin E levels can be associated with muscle weakness, immune dysfunction, dry skin, fatigue, and impaired cellular repair. Individuals with low-fat diets, malabsorption conditions, or increased oxidative exposure may be at greater risk of deficiency. This test allows you to identify imbalances early and make targeted dietary or supplement adjustments to support energy, vitality, and long-term cellular health.
Symptoms
This test evaluates antioxidant capacity by measuring α-tocopherol levels. Low vitamin E may be associated with weakened immunity, dry or irritated skin, muscle weakness, neurological symptoms, poor wound healing, and oxidative stress. It is especially relevant for individuals with low-fat diets, malabsorption issues, or increased oxidative burden from lifestyle or environmental factors.
Questions
It measures α-tocopherol, the most biologically active form of vitamin E.
Vitamin E is a key antioxidant supporting immune health and cellular protection.
Yes. Levels reflect dietary intake and fat absorption.
No fasting is necessary, though consistent diet helps accuracy.
Every 6–12 months, or more often if correcting deficiency.

How to prepare
1. Prepare Your Kit
Wash your hands with warm water and dry them thoroughly. Lay out your kit’s contents — dried blood collection card, lancet, alcohol pad, gauze pad, bandage, and return envelope — on a clean surface. Warming your hands and shaking them gently can help increase blood flow for easier collection.
2. Collect Your Sample
Use the provided lancet to perform a quick finger prick. Allow one or more drops of blood to fall onto the designated circles on the dried blood spot card. Ensure the circles are fully saturated, but avoid touching the card with your fingers.
3. Let It Dry
Allow your blood spot sample to dry completely at room temperature before packaging. This usually takes a few minutes — do not cover or seal the card until dry.
4. Pack and Return
Once dry, place the card and all components back into the return envelope provided. Seal and mail it using the pre-paid return label. Your sample will be analysed at our specialised lab.
5. Receive Your Results
Lab analysis typically takes one week.
After the test
Once your results are ready, you can review them and discuss the findings with a qualified practitioner to interpret what they mean for your health and create an appropriate plan if needed.
Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.
Understanding results
Your results show your alpha-tocopherol levels, the active form of vitamin E. Optimal levels indicate strong antioxidant protection, while low levels may suggest increased oxidative stress or insufficient dietary intake. Improving vitamin E levels often involves increasing healthy fats or supplements.
