Want to evaluate your body’s antioxidant capacity and oxidative stress balance by measuring reduced and oxidised glutathione—the “master antioxidant”—to better support detoxification and resilience?
Assess your body’s master antioxidant with the Glutathione Index Test. Measuring both reduced (GSH) and oxidised (GSSG) glutathione, this test evaluates your antioxidant capacity and oxidative stress resilience.

Simple health checks in my control
I didn't know that private blood tests were an option. Tried this platform as the packages suited what I wanted for a good price. Easy to follow instructions, and super quick results. Platform provides more information than my gp's ever have on the tests and what the results meant. Would like more clinics to be able to test at (specifically Capital Pathology) but there is a decent network. Will continue to use.

"I'm a little biased as I work here! However, I love that The Bloody Good Test tracks my health over time. After turning 40, I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to drop dead from something basic I should have known about earlier. Measuring all my core biomarkers each year gives me peace of mind my health is on the right track"

Overview
The Glutathione Index measures both reduced glutathione (GSH) and oxidised glutathione (GSSG), offering a clear assessment of your antioxidant capacity and oxidative stress balance. Often called the body’s “master antioxidant,” glutathione plays a central role in detoxification, immune defence, and cellular repair. This test reveals how effectively your body manages toxic burden and responds to oxidative challenges.
Low glutathione levels or an elevated oxidative stress load may contribute to fatigue, slow recovery, frequent illness, brain fog, inflammation, and reduced resilience. This test is particularly valuable for individuals exposed to pollutants, experiencing high stress, or seeking to enhance longevity and detox pathways. Understanding your glutathione status enables targeted interventions to strengthen cellular protection and overall vitality.
Symptoms
This test assesses oxidative stress and antioxidant capacity by measuring reduced and oxidised glutathione. Low glutathione or elevated oxidative stress may present as chronic fatigue, frequent illness, slow recovery, inflammation, headaches, brain fog, or sensitivity to toxins. It is a powerful tool for those under chronic stress, exposed to pollutants, or seeking to optimise detoxification pathways.
Questions

How to prepare
1. Prepare Your Kit
Wash your hands with warm water and dry them thoroughly. Lay out your kit’s contents — dried blood collection card, lancet, alcohol pad, gauze pad, bandage, and return envelope — on a clean surface. Warming your hands and shaking them gently can help increase blood flow for easier collection.
2. Collect Your Sample
Use the provided lancet to perform a quick finger prick. Allow one or more drops of blood to fall onto the designated circles on the dried blood spot card. Ensure the circles are fully saturated, but avoid touching the card with your fingers.
3. Let It Dry
Allow your blood spot sample to dry completely at room temperature before packaging. This usually takes a few minutes — do not cover or seal the card until dry.
4. Pack and Return
Once dry, place the card and all components back into the return envelope provided. Seal and mail it using the pre-paid return label. Your sample will be analysed at our specialised lab.
5. Receive Your Results
Lab analysis typically takes one week.
After the test
Once your results are ready, you can review them and discuss the findings with a qualified practitioner to interpret what they mean for your health and create an appropriate plan if needed.
Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.
Understanding results
You’ll receive measurements of reduced glutathione (GSH) and oxidised glutathione (GSSG). A higher GSH and a balanced GSH:GSSG ratio indicate strong antioxidant capacity. Low levels or an imbalanced ratio may reflect high oxidative stress, toxin exposure, or nutrient depletion.
