How to prepare
1. Prepare Your Kit
Wash your hands with warm water and dry them thoroughly.
2. Collect Your Sample
Use the provided lancet to perform a quick finger prick. Allow one or more drops of blood to fall onto the designated circles on the dried blood spot card. Ensure the circles are fully saturated.
3. Let It Dry
Allow your blood spot sample to dry completely at room temperature before packaging.
4. Pack and Return
Once dry, place the card and all components back into the return envelope provided. Seal and mail it using the pre-paid return label.
After the test
Share your results with a qualified practitioner who can assess them alongside your diet, symptoms and health history.
Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.
Understanding results
Your results show your alpha-tocopherol level. Levels within the reference range suggest adequate antioxidant protection. Low levels may reflect insufficient dietary intake, poor fat absorption or increased oxidative demand.
Vitamin E travels through the blood attached to lipoproteins, so the result needs to be read alongside your blood lipid levels. Someone with low total cholesterol can show a low alpha-tocopherol level without tissue stores being depleted. A practitioner can factor this in when interpreting your result.
