Overview
The Heavy Metal Analysis measures 14 toxic metals in urine collected over a full 24-hour period. This approach captures what your kidneys are actively eliminating, providing a more complete picture of total body burden than a single spot urine sample.
The test screens for metals commonly encountered through diet, environment and occupation: mercury (seafood, dental amalgams), lead (old pipes, paint), aluminium (cookware, antiperspirants), cadmium (smoking, industrial exposure), arsenic (water contamination) and others.
Symptoms
Suited to people with unexplained symptoms that may be linked to toxic metal exposure, those monitoring chelation or detoxification therapy, workers with occupational metal contact, or anyone wanting to assess their toxic metal burden.
Questions
24-hour urine collection shows what your body is actively eliminating and provides the most accurate assessment of total body burden.
The test shows which metals are present and at what levels. Identifying sources requires investigating your environment, occupation, diet and lifestyle.
Yes. It provides baseline information about toxic metal burden and natural elimination capacity.
Avoid seafood for 48 hours before and during collection. Follow collection instructions precisely.
Work with a healthcare provider experienced in environmental medicine to develop an appropriate plan.
Baseline testing first, then every 3 to 6 months during active treatment, and annually for ongoing monitoring.

How to prepare
Begin collection after your first morning urination and collect all urine for exactly 24 hours, including the first void the following morning. Store the collection container in the refrigerator during the collection period. Avoid seafood for 48 hours before and during collection.
After the test
Discuss results with a healthcare provider experienced in environmental medicine. For elevated metals, the first step is identifying and reducing exposure sources. Your provider can advise on whether further intervention is appropriate and recommend follow-up testing.
Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.
Understanding results
Results show levels of 14 toxic metals compared to reference ranges. Elevated levels may indicate ongoing exposure or accumulated body burden. Your healthcare provider can interpret results in the context of your symptoms, exposure history and whether you are undergoing chelation therapy.

Simple health checks in my control
I didn't know that private blood tests were an option. Tried this platform as the packages suited what I wanted for a good price. Easy to follow instructions, and super quick results. Platform provides more information than my gp's ever have on the tests and what the results meant. Would like more clinics to be able to test at (specifically Capital Pathology) but there is a decent network. Will continue to use.

"I'm a little biased as I work here! However, I love that The Bloody Good Test tracks my health over time. After turning 40, I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to drop dead from something basic I should have known about earlier. Measuring all my core biomarkers each year gives me peace of mind my health is on the right track"
