4-Pillar Gut Profile

$1,099.00 AUD

Dealing with persistent bloating, food reactions or chronic digestive issues that haven't improved despite dietary changes?

The 4-Pillar Gut Profile brings together four specialised gut health tests in a single panel: microbiome mapping, IgG96 food sensitivity testing, intestinal permeability assessment and a SIBO lactulose breath test. Instead of ordering each test separately and trying to piece results together, you get a structured investigation across the four dimensions practitioners look at most when gut issues persist.

This profile is built for people who have been dealing with ongoing digestive problems and want a thorough starting point. Your practitioner receives results from all four pillars at once, making it easier to see how different findings may connect and to plan next steps with a fuller picture.

Overview

Gut health is complex, and a single test rarely tells the whole story. The 4-Pillar Gut Profile investigates four key dimensions of digestive function in one panel, giving your practitioner a multi-angle view of what may be contributing to chronic gut issues.

Pillar 1: Complete Microbiome Mapping

A quantitative PCR stool analysis that measures bacteria, fungi, parasites and worms at species level. It also assesses digestive function markers including calprotectin, secretory IgA, short-chain fatty acids and pancreatic elastase. This provides information about microbial balance, inflammation, immune response and how well you are breaking down food.

Pillar 2: IgG96 Food Sensitivity Testing

A blood-based panel screening 96 common foods for IgG-mediated immune reactivity. Results show which foods may be triggering an immune response, ranked by the degree of reactivity. This information can help guide practitioner-supervised elimination and reintroduction protocols.

Pillar 3: Intestinal Permeability (Leaky Gut)

Assesses the integrity of your gut lining by measuring markers associated with intestinal barrier function. When the gut lining becomes more permeable than it should be, partially digested food particles and bacterial by-products may pass into the bloodstream, potentially contributing to systemic immune activation.

Pillar 4: SIBO Lactulose Breath Test

A breath test measuring hydrogen and methane gases produced by bacteria in the small intestine. Elevated gas levels at specific time points may indicate bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine (SIBO), a common factor in bloating, gas and irregular bowel movements.

Together, these four pillars provide your practitioner with a broader view than any single test can offer. Findings often overlap. For example, SIBO may contribute to increased intestinal permeability, which in turn may be connected to food sensitivities. Your practitioner interprets these connections and prioritises what to address first.

Symptoms

This profile is designed for anyone with complex or persistent gut issues who wants a thorough investigation without ordering multiple tests separately. It's particularly valuable for people with chronic IBS symptoms, suspected food sensitivities, possible leaky gut, recurrent SIBO, or overlapping digestive and systemic symptoms (such as fatigue, skin conditions, or joint pain alongside digestive complaints). Practitioners use this profile as a comprehensive baseline when symptoms suggest multiple contributing factors.

Questions

  • This panel combines four tests: microbiome mapping (bacteria, fungi, parasites via stool PCR), IgG96 food sensitivity testing (96 foods via blood), intestinal permeability assessment and a SIBO lactulose breath test measuring hydrogen and methane gases.
  • Standard stool tests typically assess one dimension of gut health. This profile investigates four: microbial balance, food-related immune reactivity, gut barrier integrity and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. That gives your practitioner a broader picture.
  • People with persistent bloating, irregular bowel movements, food-related discomfort, or chronic digestive issues that haven't responded to dietary changes. It suits those who want a thorough investigation rather than testing one thing at a time.
  • The kit includes materials for stool collection, finger-prick blood collection and timed breath samples. All collections happen at home over 4 to 5 days. Detailed instructions are included for each component.
  • The SIBO breath test requires a restricted diet for 24 hours and a 12-hour overnight fast. The blood and stool components have minimal preparation. Your practitioner may advise stopping probiotics or antimicrobials beforehand.
  • No. The profile is designed to be completed over 4 to 5 days. Start with the SIBO breath test (strictest preparation), then complete blood and stool collections on subsequent days.
  • Yes. Each component is available as a standalone test. The 4-Pillar profile bundles them for a more complete investigation and is more cost-effective than ordering all four separately.
  • Yes. Many people with IBS use this profile to look deeper into what might be driving their symptoms, whether that's a microbiome imbalance, SIBO, food sensitivities or gut lining issues. Your practitioner can help interpret the results alongside your existing diagnosis.

How to prepare

This profile involves four separate collection types, each with its own preparation. Your kit includes detailed instructions for every component. Here is the recommended sequence:

Step 1: SIBO Breath Test (Day 1)
Start with the breath test, as it has the strictest preparation. Follow the restricted diet (white rice, plain chicken or fish, eggs, clear broth only) for 24 hours before testing. Fast for 12 hours overnight. On test morning, collect breath samples at timed intervals over 2 to 3 hours as directed.

Step 2: IgG96 Blood Collection (Day 2 or 3)
Use the finger-prick blood collection kit provided. Clean your hands with warm water to improve blood flow. Follow the enclosed instructions to fill the blood collection card. No fasting required, but collect in the morning for consistency.

Step 3: Stool Collection (Day 3 or 4)
Follow the stool collection instructions provided. Use the collection device to transfer a sample into each tube. Return samples promptly using the prepaid courier bag. No fasting required.

Step 4: Intestinal Permeability (Flexible Timing)
Follow the enclosed instructions for this component. Your kit will specify any dietary or timing restrictions.

General Notes:
- Your practitioner may advise stopping probiotics or antimicrobials before collection. Check with them first.
- Allow 4 to 5 days to complete all collection steps comfortably.
- Keep samples stored as directed between collections.
- Post all samples together once the final collection is complete.

After the test

Book a follow-up consultation with a practitioner experienced in functional gut health to review all four pillars together. Results are most useful when interpreted as a connected picture rather than individually.

Your practitioner will help prioritise which findings to focus on first, as addressing one area often supports improvement in others. They may recommend dietary adjustments, targeted supplementation or further investigations based on what your results show.

Retesting individual pillars after 3 to 6 months can help track changes over time.

Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.

Understanding results

You will receive separate results for each of the four pillars. Your practitioner interprets these as an interconnected picture rather than four isolated reports.

The microbiome mapping shows microbial populations at species level, digestive function markers and inflammation indicators, all compared to reference ranges. Food sensitivity results list IgG-reactive foods ranked by the level of immune response measured. Intestinal permeability results indicate whether markers associated with gut barrier function fall within or outside expected ranges. SIBO results show hydrogen and methane gas levels at each timed interval, with elevations that may suggest bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine.

These findings often relate to each other. For example, bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine may be associated with changes in gut barrier function, which in turn may be connected to increased food sensitivities. Your practitioner can interpret how these pillars interact in your case and recommend a prioritised approach to next steps. Results should always be reviewed alongside your symptoms and health history.

Simple health checks in my control

I didn't know that private blood tests were an option. Tried this platform as the packages suited what I wanted for a good price. Easy to follow instructions, and super quick results. Platform provides more information than my gp's ever have on the tests and what the results meant. Would like more clinics to be able to test at (specifically Capital Pathology) but there is a decent network. Will continue to use.
