Organic Acids Environmental Pollutant Panel Urine Test Kit

$360.00 AUD

Concerned about workplace chemical exposure, or experiencing unexplained symptoms your practitioner thinks could be related to your environmental toxin load?

This urine panel measures metabolites from common environmental pollutants including industrial solvents, pesticides, plasticisers and air pollutants. It provides a snapshot of recent toxin exposure and how well your body is processing these substances. Collect a first-morning urine sample at home and post it back in the prepaid envelope.

Overview

Your body is constantly exposed to chemicals in the air, water, food and household products you come into contact with every day. This urine test measures the metabolites your body produces when it processes these substances, giving you and your practitioner a window into your current environmental toxin load and how effectively your detoxification pathways are working.

The panel covers metabolites from industrial solvents, pesticides, plasticisers and common air pollutants. It also includes markers related to your detoxification capacity.

Symptoms

This test is suited to people who want to understand their environmental chemical exposure. It may be useful if you live or work near industrial areas, have occupational chemical exposure, or are experiencing symptoms your practitioner suspects could be linked to toxin load.

Questions

  • It measures metabolites linked to industrial solvents (xylene, toluene, benzene, styrene, trimethylbenzene), pesticides, plasticisers (phthalates) and common air pollutants.
  • You collect a first-morning urine sample at home using the kit provided, then post it back in the prepaid envelope.
  • The test measures metabolite levels, not the original source. Your practitioner can help you work out likely sources.
  • Elevated metabolites may indicate higher-than-usual exposure or reduced detoxification efficiency.
  • Most medications won't interfere, but let your practitioner know what you're taking.
  • Your practitioner can advise. Many people retest after 3 to 6 months if they've made changes to reduce their exposure.
  • Speak with your child's practitioner first.

How to prepare

- Collect a first-morning urine sample for the most accurate results.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before collection.
- Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to collection, but do not over-hydrate on the morning of the test.
- Follow all instructions included in your collection kit.

After the test

- Review with your practitioner. They can explain which markers are outside range and what that may mean for you.
- Discuss potential sources. Your practitioner can help you identify possible exposure sources at home or work.
- Consider a follow-up plan. If elevated markers are found, your practitioner may recommend dietary or lifestyle changes, further testing, or referral to a specialist.
- Retest if needed. A follow-up test after a few months can help track whether your levels have changed.

Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.

Understanding results

Your results will show levels of various pollutant-related metabolites alongside reference ranges. Markers within range suggest your exposure and detoxification capacity are within expected limits. Markers outside the reference range may point to higher-than-usual exposure or reduced detoxification efficiency.

Because environmental exposures vary widely between individuals, these results are best interpreted by a qualified practitioner.

Simple health checks in my control

I didn't know that private blood tests were an option. Tried this platform as the packages suited what I wanted for a good price. Easy to follow instructions, and super quick results. Platform provides more information than my gp's ever have on the tests and what the results meant. Would like more clinics to be able to test at (specifically Capital Pathology) but there is a decent network. Will continue to use.
