Simple health checks in my control

I didn't know that private blood tests were an option. Tried this platform as the packages suited what I wanted for a good price. Easy to follow instructions, and super quick results. Platform provides more information than my gp's ever have on the tests and what the results meant. Would like more clinics to be able to test at (specifically Capital Pathology) but there is a decent network. Will continue to use.

Overview

The NAD+ Index measures NAD+, NADH, NADP+, NADPH, Nicotinamide (NAM), Nicotinic Acid (NA), and key ratios including the NAD/NADH and NADP/NADPH balance. These biomarkers provide a detailed look at cellular energy production, metabolic efficiency, and redox balance. NAD+ is central to mitochondrial function, DNA repair, and healthy aging, making this test a powerful tool for evaluating your body’s vitality at the cellular level.

Low NAD+ levels may be linked to fatigue, poor recovery, brain fog, reduced stress resilience, metabolic dysfunction, and premature aging markers. This test is ideal for individuals focused on longevity, performance, biohacking, or improving overall metabolic health. By understanding your NAD+ profile, you can tailor supplementation, nutrition, and lifestyle choices to enhance energy production and cellular repair.

Symptoms

This test evaluates cellular energy and longevity pathways by analysing NAD+ and related metabolites. Low NAD+ levels may manifest as fatigue, slow recovery, brain fog, reduced resilience to stress, metabolic dysfunction, or accelerated aging markers. It is ideal for individuals interested in longevity, metabolic optimisation, or addressing persistent low energy.

Questions

  • It assesses NAD+, NADH, NADP+, NADPH, and key metabolic ratios that reflect cellular energy and redox balance.
  • It plays a central role in metabolism, mitochondrial function, and healthy aging.
  • Anyone interested in longevity, energy optimisation, or metabolic health.
  • Yes. Niacin, NMN, NR, and NAD+ boosters can change your profile.
  • Every 3–4 months when adjusting supplementation or lifestyle factors.

How to prepare

1. Prepare Your Kit
Wash your hands with warm water and dry them thoroughly. Lay out your kit’s contents — dried blood collection card, lancet, alcohol pad, gauze pad, bandage, and return envelope — on a clean surface. Warming your hands and shaking them gently can help increase blood flow for easier collection.

2. Collect Your Sample
Use the provided lancet to perform a quick finger prick. Allow one or more drops of blood to fall onto the designated circles on the dried blood spot card. Ensure the circles are fully saturated, but avoid touching the card with your fingers.

3. Let It Dry
Allow your blood spot sample to dry completely at room temperature before packaging. This usually takes a few minutes — do not cover or seal the card until dry.

4. Pack and Return
Once dry, place the card and all components back into the return envelope provided. Seal and mail it using the pre-paid return label. Your sample will be analysed at our specialised lab.

5. Receive Your Results
Lab analysis typically takes one week.

After the test

Once your results are ready, you can review them and discuss the findings with a qualified practitioner to interpret what they mean for your health and create an appropriate plan if needed.

Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.

Understanding results

Your results include NAD+, NADH, NADP+, NADPH, and key metabolic ratios that reflect cellular energy status. Higher NAD+ levels generally support better energy, repair, and metabolic balance. Low levels may suggest stress, aging-related decline, or increased metabolic demand.
