How to prepare
Collect a fresh stool sample using the provided collection container and tools. If you are taking antibiotics, proton pump inhibitors (such as omeprazole or pantoprazole) or bismuth compounds, discuss with your healthcare provider whether these can be paused for at least 2 weeks before testing, as they can cause false negative results. Do not stop any prescribed medication without medical advice.
After the test
If you have black or tarry stools, are vomiting blood, or have other signs of bleeding, seek urgent medical care rather than waiting for a test result.
A positive result should be discussed with your healthcare provider, who can prescribe appropriate antibiotic treatment. Follow-up testing is recommended at least 4 to 6 weeks after completing treatment to check whether eradication was successful.

Understanding results
Results show positive or negative for H. pylori antigen. A positive result indicates active bacterial infection. A negative result suggests no active infection at the time of testing. If you have been taking antibiotics or acid-suppressing medications, false negative results are possible.
