Organic Acids Metabolic & Environmental Pollutant Panel Urine Test Kit

$556.00 AUD

Experiencing persistent fatigue, brain fog, or mood changes and want to assess both your metabolic function and environmental chemical exposure in a single test?

This combined urine panel measures metabolic markers (energy production, neurotransmitters, B-vitamins, gut microbial activity, detoxification) alongside metabolites from common environmental pollutants including industrial solvents, pesticides and plasticisers. Collect a first-morning urine sample at home and post it back in the prepaid envelope.

Overview

This panel combines two areas of testing into one urine collection: metabolic function and environmental pollutant exposure. On the metabolic side, it measures markers related to how your body produces energy, processes neurotransmitters, uses B-vitamins, and manages gut microbial byproducts. On the environmental side, it screens for metabolites linked to common industrial chemicals, pesticides and plasticisers.

Together, these markers give your practitioner a broad view of your cellular metabolism and your body's ability to handle everyday chemical exposures. This can be particularly useful when symptoms are vague or overlapping, as it covers multiple systems in a single test.

Symptoms

This panel suits people who want to look at both their metabolic health and environmental exposure without ordering two separate tests. It may be useful if you're experiencing persistent fatigue, brain fog, mood changes or digestive issues, especially if your practitioner suspects environmental factors could be contributing. It is also suited to anyone with known or suspected chemical exposure who wants a broader metabolic picture at the same time.

Questions

  • Environmental chemical exposure can affect metabolic function, and vice versa. Testing both in one panel helps your practitioner see the bigger picture without needing two separate tests.
  • You collect a first-morning urine sample at home using the kit provided, then post it back in the prepaid envelope.
  • This panel includes everything in the environmental pollutant panel plus a full set of metabolic markers covering energy production, neurotransmitters, B-vitamins, gut health and detoxification.
  • No. It measures metabolite levels that may indicate areas worth investigating. Your practitioner uses these results alongside your symptoms and history to guide next steps.
  • Avoid B-vitamin supplements for 48 hours before collection if possible. Check with your practitioner before stopping any prescribed supplements.
  • Speak with your child's practitioner first. The urine collection is straightforward, but interpretation should always involve a qualified professional.

How to prepare

- Collect a first-morning urine sample for the most accurate results.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before collection.
- Avoid supplements containing B-vitamins for 48 hours before collection (check with your practitioner first if you're unsure about stopping).
- Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to collection, but do not over-hydrate on the morning of the test.
- Follow all instructions included in your collection kit.

After the test

- Book a results review. This panel covers a lot of ground, so a practitioner walkthrough is strongly recommended.
- Prioritise with your practitioner. They can help you focus on the markers that matter most for your situation rather than trying to address everything at once.
- Discuss follow-up options. Your practitioner may suggest dietary adjustments, lifestyle changes, further testing or referral depending on your results.
- Plan a retest. If changes are made, retesting in 3 to 6 months can help track progress.

Your test results will be available in your private dashboard. If there are any urgent issues, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your health professional.

Understanding results

Your results will show metabolite levels across both metabolic and environmental categories, each plotted against reference ranges. Markers within range suggest those pathways are functioning within expected limits. Markers outside range may point to areas worth investigating further.

Because this panel covers a wide range of systems, it is best interpreted by a practitioner who can connect the dots between different markers and your symptoms. For example, elevated gut microbial markers alongside low B-vitamin markers may tell a different story than either result alone.

Simple health checks in my control

I didn't know that private blood tests were an option. Tried this platform as the packages suited what I wanted for a good price. Easy to follow instructions, and super quick results. Platform provides more information than my gp's ever have on the tests and what the results meant. Would like more clinics to be able to test at (specifically Capital Pathology) but there is a decent network. Will continue to use.
