Collection Centres

There are thousands of collection centres across Australia, so there's a good chance one is close to you. Here's how to find your nearest location and what to expect when you get there.

How do I use the collection centre map?

Head to the collection centre map on our website to find locations near you: https://bloodygood.com.au/pages/collection-centres.

To find your nearest centre:

  • Enter your postcode or suburb in the search bar.
  • The map will show pins for nearby collection centres.
  • If you're not seeing many results, try zooming out or scrolling the map to reveal more options in surrounding areas.
  • Click on a pin to see the centre's address, opening hours, and whether you need to book ahead.

If the map is loading slowly or not displaying properly, try opening it in a different browser (Chrome and Safari tend to work best), clearing your browser cache, or switching from your phone to a computer. If it's still not cooperating, get in touch with our support team, and we can look up locations for you.

Do I need to book an appointment, or can I walk in?

Most collection centres accept walk-ins during their regular opening hours. Some centres, particularly smaller or high-demand locations, may require you to book an appointment in advance. The map listing for each centre will usually note whether a booking is needed. If you're unsure, it's worth calling the centre directly before heading in. Their contact details will be on the map listing.

What do I need to bring to the collection centre?

You just need your printed referral when you visit the collection centre. Your referral is emailed to you after you place your order and is also available to download from your account. You don't need to bring anything else. The collection centre handles the rest.

What if I'm having trouble finding a collection centre?

If you're having trouble finding a collection centre, the map isn't working for you, or you have questions about a specific location, our support team is happy to help.

Do I need to fast before my blood test?

Some blood tests require you to fast beforehand (typically no food for 10 to 12 hours, water is fine). If fasting is required for your test, this will be noted on your referral and in your order confirmation email. Most people book a morning appointment so they can fast overnight.

Do I need to prepare for my blood test?

That depends on which test you've ordered. Some tests require fasting (typically no food for 10 to 12 hours, water is fine), and this will be clearly noted on your referral and in your order confirmation email. Beyond fasting, there's generally nothing special you need to do. If a specific test has any other preparation requirements, they'll be outlined on the product page and in your referral.

What if I feel unwell or faint during my blood draw?

This is more common than people think, and collection centre staff are trained to handle it. If you're prone to feeling light-headed during blood draws, let the staff know before they start. They can make adjustments, such as having you lie down during the draw. If you feel unwell afterwards, stay seated and let the staff know. They'll look after you. It's also a good idea to eat and drink water after your appointment, especially if you've been fasting.

What happens to my blood sample after testing?

Once the laboratory has completed the analysis, your sample is handled and disposed of in accordance with standard pathology laboratory protocols. Samples are not stored long-term or used for any purpose beyond the tests you ordered.
