We offer a range of at-home test kits

What at-home test kits do you offer?

We offer a range of at-home test kits. You can browse the full range on our website: https://bloodygood.com.au/collections/at-home-test-kits

How do at-home test kits work?

Each kit comes with step-by-step instructions, sample collection tools, a prepaid return envelope, and a unique tracking code. You collect your sample at home, package it as instructed, and drop it off at a post office or mailbox. No special training is needed.

How reliable are at-home test results?

Our at-home kits are designed to deliver results comparable to those processed in a professional lab. As with any test, results are best discussed with your GP so they can take into account your full health picture.

Does collecting a sample hurt?

Most at-home kits require only a small finger prick. Any discomfort is minimal.

How long does it take to get results from an at-home kit?

Results can vary depending on the test taken. You'll receive an email notification when they're available, and you can view them by logging in to your Bloody Good Tests account.

Do I need to prepare before collecting my sample?

Some kits have specific preparation requirements, like avoiding food or medication beforehand. These details will be included with your kit and in any emails we send you. If you're unsure, our support team can help.

If you're feeling unwell or have the flu, it's best to wait until you've fully recovered before collecting your sample, as illness can affect your results.

When should I collect my sample for a hormone test?

For male or female hormone profiles using saliva, collect within 30 minutes of waking up, before eating, drinking, exercising, or brushing your teeth. Avoid taking any hormones before collection.

If you have a menstrual cycle, timing matters:

  • For a typical cycle, collect on day 19, 20, or 21 (counting the first day of menstruation as day 1).
  • For irregular cycles, collect on a non-bleeding day.
  • For longer cycles (e.g. 35 days), collect between day 19 and day 30. For shorter cycles (e.g. 14 days), collect around day 12.
  • If you don't have a menstrual cycle (e.g. due to hysterectomy, amenorrhea, or endometrial ablation), you can collect on any day.

Should I delay collecting my urine sample if I'm on my period?

Yes. It's best to wait until your period is over to avoid contamination of the sample, which could affect the accuracy of your results.

Do I need to stop taking supplements or medications before collecting my sample?

We recommend checking with your healthcare provider to determine whether you should pause any supplements or medications before collection.

What labelling is required on my sample?

Make sure the information on your sample collection vials matches exactly the information on your test request form. Required details include your name, date of birth, date of collection, and time of collection. Missing or incorrect information may lead to delays or the need for a new collection.

What if my sample is damaged or lost in transit?

If your sample is damaged or lost during shipping, contact our support team. We'll send a replacement kit at no extra cost.

What if I make a mistake while collecting my sample?

If something goes wrong during collection, reach out to our support team. We'll walk you through the next steps, which may include sending you a new kit.
