Concerned about aluminium exposure, experiencing unexplained neurological symptoms, or need assessment of heavy metal burden affecting brain health?
The Aluminium Blood Test measures how much aluminium is in your blood. High levels can happen from workplace exposure, contaminated food or water, or certain medical treatments. Too much aluminium may affect bone, brain, and overall health.

Think of the Aluminium test as your body's early warning system for detecting unwanted metal buildup that could be quietly affecting your brain and nervous system. While aluminum is everywhere around us – in cookware, antacids, deodorants, and even drinking water – your body has no use for this metal, so any significant accumulation acts like an uninvited guest that can potentially interfere with your cognitive function and memory.
This test is particularly valuable if you're experiencing unexplained brain fog, memory issues, or other neurological symptoms, especially if you work in industries like welding or manufacturing, live in areas with high environmental aluminum, or regularly use aluminum-containing products or medications. Since your kidneys are responsible for filtering out aluminum, people with kidney problems are especially at risk for buildup. By measuring your aluminum levels, you and your healthcare provider can identify whether this invisible exposure might be contributing to your symptoms and take steps to reduce your exposure or explore treatment options like chelation therapy to help your body eliminate excess aluminum and protect your neurological health.

You may benefit from the Aluminium Blood Test
Essential for individuals with occupational aluminium exposure, unexplained neurological symptoms, cognitive concerns, or anyone needing heavy metal toxicity assessment.
Occupational metal exposure
Living near industrial sites
Difficulty concentrating on tasks
Problems with short-term memory
Concerns about cognitive decline
How to prepare
Special collection procedures required to avoid contamination. Use metal-free collection tubes. Avoid aluminium-containing medications, antacids, and cosmetics for 48 hours before testing if possible. Inform healthcare provider of all exposures and medications.
Understanding results
Results show aluminium levels compared to normal reference ranges. Elevated levels may indicate significant exposure requiring source identification and possible chelation therapy or other detoxification interventions.
After the test
Address elevated aluminium through source identification and elimination, chelation therapy if indicated, supportive neurological care, and regular monitoring. Work with healthcare providers experienced in heavy metal toxicity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Normal serum aluminium levels are typically less than 10 μg/L, though reference ranges may vary between laboratories, and levels above 20 μg/L are generally considered elevated and potentially concerning.
Common sources include antacids, some vaccines, cookware, food additives, contaminated water, cosmetics, antiperspirants, and occupational exposure in welding or aluminium production industries.
Symptoms may include cognitive decline, memory problems, confusion, fatigue, bone pain, muscle weakness, and in severe cases, neurological disorders resembling dementia or other neurodegenerative conditions.
Treatment involves identifying and eliminating exposure sources, chelation therapy with agents like deferoxamine in severe cases, supportive care, and monitoring kidney function during treatment.
Prolonged high-level exposure may cause permanent neurological damage, but early detection and treatment can often prevent progression and may improve symptoms in some cases.
Reduce exposure by avoiding aluminium cookware, choosing aluminium-free personal care products, filtering water if contaminated, and following occupational safety guidelines if exposed at work.
